Research in Rural Settings

This presentation is about research involving rural teachers of grades 3-12 while they learn science inquiry skills through an on-line course followed by scientific research in local state parks. Teachers were in vertical teams, with one elementary, one middle, and one high school teacher, working with scientists and one teacher mentor (who had prior experience in scientific research). We followed the teachers one academic year later with a vertical teaming survey. We summarize the results of that survey and a follow-up of two elementary teachers, who provided scientific research for their students.
