We are faced with energy challenges and the promise of power with hydrogen. The fuel cell and solid state hydrogen storage methodologies are currently limited by materials and represent the cutting edge of energy technology. Implementation to a real hydrogen economy is heavily dependent on safe, reliable hydrogen storage. Solid state storage offers advantages and poses challenges that are the focus of widespread research and development. My research here at FSU has been directed toward the synthesis and optimization of new hydrogen storage materials for the realization of a working hydrogen economy in the near future.''
